Privacy policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

This policy explains what information proteonomix.com handles when you read the site or write to the editors, and what you can ask us to do with it. "We" and "us" mean the editors who run the site.

The short version

  • There are no reader accounts. You never need to sign up or sign in to read anything here.
  • The site shows no advertising and runs no analytics or tracking tools.
  • We don't use tracking cookies, and we don't run a newsletter or mailing list.
  • The only personal information we keep on purpose is what you type into the contact form.
  • We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Messages you send us

When you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, the subject you chose and your message in the site's database. We use them to read your message and reply to it, and for nothing else. We keep messages only as long as we need them to deal with what you asked, and no longer than 12 months, after which they are deleted.

Please don't put health details or other sensitive information in a message. We can't give personal medical advice, and we don't need those details to reply.

Server logs

Our hosting servers keep standard technical logs. These record the IP address a request came from, the browser and device type it reported, the page requested, and the date and time. We use them to keep the site secure, to spot and block abuse, and to fix errors. Logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted. We don't use them to build profiles of readers.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a content delivery network and security service. It processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and filter out attacks. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies, such as __cf_bm, to tell people from automated traffic. You can read more in Cloudflare's privacy policy, and our cookie policy lists every cookie that can appear on this site.

Cookies

The only cookie the site itself sets is a sign-in cookie for editors using the admin area. It is never set for readers. Details are on the cookies page.

Images, fonts and links

Images and fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page doesn't send requests to outside font or image services. Articles do link to other websites, such as fda.gov, ClinicalTrials.gov and journal pages. When you follow a link, the other site's own privacy policy applies.

Who else sees information

Information is handled by the editors and by the service providers that make the site work: our hosting provider and Cloudflare. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal order. We don't share it with anyone else.

Your rights

Residents of several US states, including California, Virginia, Colorado and others with consumer privacy laws, have rights over their personal information. Depending on where you live, these can include the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected and to have it deleted, along with the right to opt out of the sale of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. We don't sell or share information in those ways, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you whether we hold a message from you, or to delete it. Write to us through the contact page. To confirm the request is genuine, we may reply to the email address the original message came from. We won't treat you differently for making a request.

Children

This site is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us a message, let us know through the contact page and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Access to the database and admin area is limited to the editors, and the admin sign-in is protected against repeated guessing.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions about this policy can go through the contact page.
